In a dominating performance, fourth seed Jessica Pegula secured her spot in the quarterfinals of the 2025 US Open. Pegula outclassed her opponent, Ann Li, in the fourth round, winning the match convincingly with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
The match began on a strong note for Pegula, as she broke Li immediately in the first game. From there, Pegula continued to apply pressure, breaking Li three more times in the first set to wrap it up in just 25 minutes. Pegula's next opponent will be Barbora Krejcikova from the Czech Republic. Krejcikova advanced to the quarterfinals after a grueling three-set match elsewhere on Sunday. Pegula and Li's mood improved after a night out with friends at an escape room, and it seems that the American player is ready to take on the challenge of the quarterfinals.
