Persistent showers and constant drizzle extend into Sunday, followed by a drop in temperature, ushering in a cool autumnal atmosphere.
Sunday is expected to see a gradual clearing of the morning showers, with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s. Lingering showers may persist into the morning, but the skies will start to clear in the afternoon. The weather will become even less humid throughout the day.
Tonight, temperatures will drop to the mid 60s, and there's a chance for scattered showers and occasional thunderstorms. Decreasing humidity is expected toward morning.
A strong cold front will bring a line of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon, with some of these storms potentially having gusty winds, downpours, and small hail.
After the front departs, northwest winds will bring a fall-like feel with below-average temperatures and much lower humidity levels.
Saturday is set to be a hot day, with highs in the low to mid 80s and summerlike humidity levels. Winds on Saturday will be from the south at 10-15 mph.
Looking ahead, a big dome of high pressure will build in for Tuesday and last into most of the new workweek, bringing mostly sunny weather for Monday and Tuesday.
Another cold front will pass through in the Wednesday to Thursday time frame, but it doesn't look like it will bring much more rain.
