Person Detected Bringing Sheep on Leash Through Train Station

On September 13, 2025, an unexpected event unfolded at Paisley Gilmour Street station in Renfrewshire. A man was spotted walking a sheep on a lead through the station, causing quite a stir among passengers and staff.

The sheep, under the man's control, was well-behaved and caused no disruptions to the station's operations. ScotRail, the railway operator, confirmed the unusual sight, describing it as "one of the more ewe-nique sights on Scotland's Railway."

A photo shared by ScotRail on their social media platforms showed the man and the sheep sitting on a platform at Paisley Gilmour Street station. The man appeared amused, while the sheep, on a red lead, seemed calm and composed.

Rumours circulated on social media suggesting that the sheep had been spotted being led along on a lead in Ayr and Prestwick in South Ayrshire in recent days. Despite these reports, the origin of the sheep remains unclear.

ScotRail took the opportunity to poke fun at the situation, posting on their social media, "Well, ewe don't see that every day at Paisley Gilmour Street!" The post was met with a wave of humorous responses from social media users, who joked about ticket ramifications and compared the incident to a local area, Baaarhead.

Despite the commotion, the next train due to arrive at the platform was heading to Largs in North Ayrshire, continuing its journey without delay. The unusual sight at Paisley Gilmour Street station certainly provided a memorable moment for those present, adding a touch of rural charm to the urban railway scene.
