Two Separate Rescue Operations Carried Out by the Same Team in a Short Timeframe

In a remarkable display of quick response and efficient teamwork, the provincial fire brigade's rescue group in Benitatxell, Spain, was called into action twice in a short timeframe, attending to two separate rescue operations on August 30.

The first operation took place in the morning, at around 10.56am, when a 46-year-old sculptor hit the rocks in Cala dels Testos. Reports suggest that his kayak overturned due to rough seas, leaving him with a spinal injury. The provincial fire brigade's rescue group was promptly dispatched to the scene and managed to transfer him to advanced life support at the Finestrat helipad.

In a stark contrast, the second operation was carried out in the evening, shortly before 8pm. This time, the alarm was raised for a 38-year-old woman who had injured her ankle while descending from the Forat de Bernia towards La Font del Bernia. Unlike the first incident, the location of this rescue was not near the sea. The woman was airlifted and safely transferred to the San Vicente fire station.

With daylight fading fast, the urgency of the evening operation was stressed as the helicopter could not fly in darkness. Fortunately, the woman's injury was an ankle injury, different from the spinal injury sustained by the 46-year-old man in the morning.

These two incidents serve as a testament to the dedication and swift action of the provincial fire brigade's rescue group in Benitatxell. The team, known for their professionalism and expertise, managed to complete the second rescue operation at 12.39pm, ensuring the safety of another member of the community.

This article reports on these two separate rescue operations carried out by the same rescue group in a short timeframe. Both incidents underscore the importance of safety and preparedness, especially when engaging in outdoor activities in areas with challenging terrain and unpredictable weather conditions.
