Babyshambles Announce Reunion Tour for 20th Anniversary of Debut Album
After an eleven-year hiatus, the British indie rock band Babyshambles is set to reunite for a UK tour this November and December. The reunion tour, which marks the 20th anniversary of their debut album "Down In Albion", will consist of ten concerts across the UK.
The decision to reunite was partly due to the desire to play their songs again, according to band members. Pete Doherty, the leader of Babyshambles, is currently working on new material for the band. Guitarist Mick Whitnall (56) and Doherty were afraid of having a harmful influence on each other due to their addictions, but they have overcome their struggles and are ready to hit the stage once more.
The tour will kick off on November 14 in Norwich and will conclude on December 10 in Plymouth. Tickets for the reunion tour will be available to everyone on September 5, with pre-sale tickets available three days earlier on September 3. For larger shows, Babyshambles plans to release a single with B-sides.
The rise of Babyshambles was marked by artistic quality and numerous tabloid headlines. The people who attended their concerts were not the same as those who read "The Sun". Drug addiction was a major factor in the band's separation, as acknowledged by Pete Doherty. The reunion coincides with the 20th anniversary of their debut album "Down In Albion", and a song called "Dandy Hooligan" is being highly anticipated by Doherty.
Original guitarist Patrick Walden passed away in June this year, which served as a motivation for the reunion. Drew McConnell, who was the bassist for Babyshambles during their hiatus, will be joining the band for the reunion tour.
Babyshambles rose to fame in the mid-2000s, with their music and lifestyle attracting a devoted following. The band's rise was marked by artistic quality and numerous tabloid headlines, as they became one of the most talked-about bands in the UK. The reunion tour promises to be a celebration of their music and a chance for fans to relive the energy of their live performances.
Stay tuned for more updates on Babyshambles' reunion tour and their new music.
