Pfaffinger Corporate Entities Honored Once More for Exceptional Voluntary Eco-friendly endeavors
The Pfaffinger Group, a long-standing medium-sized company based in Passau, has been recognised for its commitment to environmental and climate protection. The Bavarian State Government awarded the group for its participation in the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact, an agreement aimed at achieving environmentally compatible economic growth.
The Pfaffinger Group joined the Pact in 2020, and since then, has been voluntarily and sustainably engaged in the initiative. This commitment was honoured with an award in 2020, and again in 2025, when the certificate of the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Protection Pact was officially handed over by Mayor Andreas Rother, representing the Lord Mayor Jürgen Dupper.
The award was presented to the CEO Dr. Markus Pfaffinger and other responsible parties, in recognition of the group's efforts in reducing resource consumption and applying environmentally friendly technologies. One such example is the method used by Pfaffinger Rohrnetz & Sanierungstechnik GmbH, which employs a combined high-pressure suction and rinsing vehicle with integrated water recovery. This innovative approach reduces daily drinking water consumption compared to conventional technology.
Moreover, the Pfaffinger Bau SE, a subsidiary of the Pfaffinger Group, is certified according to the international environmental management standard ISO 14001. This certification signifies the group's commitment to improving energy and resource efficiency, resulting in significant cost savings and the optimization of operational processes.
These efforts have not only benefited the environment but also the competitiveness of the company. With over 750 employees at locations in Passau, Iggensbach, Munich, Haßfurt, Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin, and Stuttgart, and an annual turnover of 190 million euros, the Pfaffinger Group continues to make a substantial impact in the construction and industrial sector.
The Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact, first concluded on October 23, 1995, between the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and the Bavarian economy, aims to create solutions for the challenges of our time from the economy. The Pfaffinger Group, with its long tradition and location in Passau, is a fixed component of this Pact.
In addition to the Pact, the Pfaffinger Group has also been recognised for its HD cleaning of wastewater channels, which conserves valuable drinking water supplies. The division of Pipe Network & Rehabilitation Technology within the Pfaffinger Group received an award from Bavarian State Minister for Environment and Consumer Protection, Thorsten Glauber, in 2020.
As the Pfaffinger Group continues to grow and innovate, its commitment to environmental and climate protection remains a key priority. The awards received are a testament to the group's dedication to creating a sustainable future for all.
