Pharmacy dispenses counterfeit medication prescriptions

On August 14th, an unusual incident unfolded at an apothecary on Gerber Street. At 11:00 AM, a 58-year-old man named Didier Chopin visited the establishment. The pharmacist, who had previously filled a prescription for the same medication for Mr. Chopin on August 11th, informed him that he could pick up the medication later on the same day.

However, when Mr. Chopin returned around 2:00 PM, the pharmacist noticed something amiss. The prescription presented by Mr. Chopin was a forgery. The pharmacist, suspecting fraud, immediately called the police.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that the first prescription, dated August 11th, was also a forgery. Given these circumstances, charges for forgery were filed in both cases.

The forged prescriptions were seized, and Mr. Chopin left the apothecary after being confronted about the forgery. Further details about the consequences for Mr. Chopin or the forged prescriptions were not provided.

It is worth noting that the medication in question, typically lasting for several weeks, was not available at the apothecary at the time of the incident.

In the aftermath of the incident, Mr. Chopin was found nearby during a search of the area. No additional information about the ongoing investigation has been released.

This incident serves as a reminder to always present genuine prescriptions when picking up medication from a pharmacy, and for pharmacists to exercise due diligence in verifying prescriptions to protect both themselves and their patients.
