In a recent poll, Ivey received a landslide 23 votes, leaving his competitors far behind. Meanwhile, Daniel Negreanu, often hailed as the current GOAT, came in third with 7 votes.
The poll, conducted by PokerOrg, sparked a lively discussion on their X thread dedicated to the late poker legend Chip Reese. The thread garnered nearly 500,000 views, with fans sharing their opinions on the greatest poker players of all time. Negreanu, who knew Reese personally, kicked off the debate by asking who the greatest poker player of the modern era is and how they compare to past greats.
In the poll, Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi came in second with 12 votes, followed by Negreanu with 7 votes. Phil Hellmuth received 5 votes, while Nick Schulman, Stephen Chidwick, Martin Kabrhel, and Jesse Lonis each received 2 votes.
