Pitt Dominates Duquesne in Rout, Extends FCS Win Streak

In a one-sided affair, Pitt football showcased their dominance over Duquesne, winning 56-12. The Panthers improved their record against Football Championship Subdivision opponents to an impressive 11-0 under coach Pat Narduzzi, thanks to a strong offensive performance and a stifling defense.

The game began with a bang as Desmond Reid returned a punt 88 yards for a touchdown, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Pitt's offense continued to shine, scoring three touchdowns in the final 9 1/2 minutes of the first half to take a commanding 34-6 lead at halftime.

Quarterback Eli Holstein had a standout game for Pitt, throwing for 154 yards and four touchdowns. Reid was the team's top rusher with 66 yards on eight carries and also caught a touchdown pass. Kenny Johnson, Malachi Thomas, Bryce Yates, and Cataurus Hicks each caught one touchdown pass for Pitt. Cole Gonzales added a 60-yard touchdown pass to the mix.

Duquesne's Tyler Riddell also threw for 154 yards and one touchdown for the Dukes, but it was not enough to keep pace with Pitt's offensive onslaught.

Pitt's defense was equally impressive, recording 10 tackles for loss, including four sacks. The all-time series between Pitt and Duquesne now stands at 6-2 in Pitt's favor.

In the third quarter, Reid added another touchdown to Pitt's tally with a 53-yard run on the second snap of the half. Pitt's Trey Butkowski kicked two 27-yard field goals in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring for the Panthers.

Thirteen different players made at least one reception for Pitt in the game, demonstrating the team's depth and balance on offense. Pitt's victory extends their winning streak against FCS opponents and sets them up for a strong finish to the season.
