Plane Crash on Day 69: Elderly Propeller Pilot Sustains Severe Injuries

In a tragic turn of events, a severe accident occurred at Grabersdorf Airport in Southeast Styria during a flight show. The incident involved a 69-year-old pilot operating an ultralight aircraft.

The accident unfolded around 2 pm when the pilot was attempting to start the engine. To initiate the engine, the pilot manually spun the propeller before loosening the drive belt. However, during the engine start, the propeller rotor swung back, causing the pilot's serious injury.

Thankfully, a doctor was present at the accident site to provide initial treatment to the injured pilot. A rescue helicopter arrived and transported the injured pilot to LKH Feldbach for further treatment.

It's worth noting that a separate incident involving two children who were seriously injured in a fall through a skylight in Styria occurred around the same time. However, this incident is not directly related to the flight show accident.

Regrettably, the search results do not provide information about the doctor who initially treated the 69-year-old pilot during the airshow in Grabersdorf. Our thoughts are with the pilot and their family during this difficult time.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
