Planned construction project in Florakiez: 25 residential units with underground parking set for Florastraße

In the heart of Berlin's bustling Pankow district, a new residential and commercial building is set to rise at Florastraße 79/Neue Schöngolzer Straße 17A. This highly anticipated project, developed by Bonava, will offer 25 apartments and an underground garage, providing additional housing in the high-demand area.

The location of the development is particularly advantageous, with numerous cafes, small shops, playgrounds, schools, and cultural institutions just a stone's throw away. Residents will also enjoy easy access to the Bürgerpark Pankow and the Schlosspark Schönehausen.

The construction site, previously a parking lot, is nestled in a sought-after residential area known for its renovated old buildings, green inner courtyards, and tree-lined streets. The neighbourhood retains a relaxed atmosphere, but space is becoming increasingly scarce, and densification is becoming more important.

The architectural style of the new building remains uncertain, with some speculating it will blend seamlessly with its surroundings, while others anticipate modern accents. The SEKA AG, a renowned construction company, is responsible for the construction execution as the general contractor, with the GbR Florastraße 79 / 79A serving as the project developer.

While details about the number of rooms, possible balconies or terraces, or sustainable construction methods for the new building are yet to be announced, a communal living space is confirmed to be part of the project, fitting into the overall concept.

Preparatory work, including soil loosening and surface breaking, has already begun, but the start of deep or shell construction remains undisclosed. As for a potential marketing strategy or a concrete timeline, no information is currently available. For the latest updates, residents are encouraged to keep an eye on the construction sign on the site.

This new development will mark another mixed-use addition to Pankow, a district already renowned for its vibrant community and high demand for housing. As construction progresses, the Florakiez neighbourhood is set to welcome more residents and contribute to the continued growth of this dynamic district.
