Playground on Hohebergstraße receives tree donation from local citizen's foundation
In an effort to enhance the city's climate and quality of stay, three new trees have been planted on the playground grounds of Hohebergstraße. The tree planting action, carried out on a Wednesday afternoon, was part of an ongoing initiative by The Citizens' Foundation Heusenstamm.
The newly planted trees, consisting of silver lindens and one hop hornbeam, were carefully selected with consideration for the location and potential climate changes. These trees, known for their cooling effect, will improve the microclimate of the playground, providing shade for visitors and contributing to the city's oxygen production.
The event, which took place in cooperation with the city's Green Team and municipal works team, aimed to demonstrate The Citizens' Foundation's commitment to the city. The initiative was taken by the board members Manfred Barth and Günter Broßmann.
The tree planting action also serves to further enhance the city's quality of stay on the playground. By improving the climate, the trees will make the playground a more enjoyable and comfortable place for children and families.
The city's mayor, Steffen Ball, thanked The Citizens' Foundation for their involvement and the support of the city's employees. He emphasised the importance of community engagement and climate adaptation projects in ensuring a sustainable and livable city.
Special considerations were taken when planting the trees on a playground. Suitable soil and light conditions were ensured, and safety aspects like unwrinkled fall protection areas and free passageways were maintained.
The tree planting action on Hohebergstraße playground is a significant step towards improving the city's climate and quality of stay. It is a testament to the community's commitment to creating a greener, more sustainable city for all its residents.
