In the fishing region of Kamchatka, the illegal sale of chum salmon continues to be a concern, with active trading reported in the Ust-Kamchatsky District. No new information has been provided regarding the removal of ads for chum salmon from Ust-Kamchatsk or the verification process for ads on "Avito".

The Russian social network VK has recently announced that it will block advertisements for the illegal sale of chum salmon found on its platform. This comes after ads for chum salmon from Ust-Kamchatsk were discovered on "Avito", with sellers offering the fish for a price of 1,800 rubles per kilogram. The press service of "Avito" has confirmed that such ads are being blocked for verification.

Legal fishing for red fish on the east of Kamchatka begins in early June. However, all salmon caught before the official start of the red fish season is considered illegally obtained. This means that any chum salmon sold before June is likely to be part of the illegal trade.

Criminal liability for poaching applies not just to sellers, but also to buyers of the prohibited catch. Violators of the sale of chum salmon face a fine of 10,600 or 11,500 rubles, depending on the source. Similarly, violators of the sale of keta salmon and pink salmon face fines of 2,000, 961 rubles, respectively.

The illegal sale of red caviar faces a much heavier penalty, with a fine of 28,000 rubles per kilogram. As the fishing season approaches, it is crucial to ensure that all catches are legal and sustainable to protect the region's valuable fish stocks.

In an effort to combat the illegal trade, no new information about the verification process for ads on "Avito" has been provided. It is hoped that further measures will be taken to prevent the sale of illegal fish and ensure the safety and legality of all catches in the Kamchatka region.
