Stefan Brode, a 47-year-old police officer with over two decades of service, is set to take on a new challenge as the First Police Commissioner (EPHK) of the police station in Castrop-Rauxel, starting May 1, 2025.

Brode joined the police service in 1998 and has since served in various roles. After completing his studies at the HSPV in Gelsenkirchen in 2001, he served in the police presidiums of Gelsenkirchen and Dortmund. In 2011, he moved to the police presidium in Recklinghausen, where he has been ever since.

Brode's career in Recklinghausen saw him rise through the ranks, becoming the duty group leader in Datteln in 2020. In November 2023, he took over the leadership of duty group -B- in the Recklinghausen station. This extensive experience in law enforcement and leadership roles has qualified him for his new position in Castrop-Rauxel.

In his personal life, Brode is married and has an 8-year-old son. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, playing football with his son, going to judo, gardening, and cooking. When he takes a break from his busy schedule, Brode prefers to spend his vacation by or on the sea.

Brode expressed his excitement about his new role in Castrop-Rauxel, stating he never thought he would return there as shift leader in 2025. EPHK Esther Arnold-Strunz will leave the Castrop-Rauxel police station and return to Datteln to take over the leadership of the station there.
