Police Forces Collaborate: Drug Suspect Taken into Custody at Elmshorn Station by Federal and State Police Forces

In an unexpected turn of events, a 23-year-old Turkish man was arrested at Elmshorn train station on August 14, 2025. The arrest was made during a joint control action by federal and state police, as confirmed by the Police Directorate Bad Segeberg via news aktuell.

At around 14:35, the man was stopped in the pedestrian tunnel area. A search revealed that he was in possession of ready-to-sell cocaine, cannabis, and a low three-digit amount of cash.

The substances found on the man were identified as cocaine and cannabis. The investigation into this matter is being conducted under the Narcotics and Consumable Cannabis Act. The suspect was provisionally arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking, and Elmshorn Criminal Police are currently investigating the case.

Following his arrest, the man was taken to Elmshorn police station. Due to a risk of flight and recidivism, a judge issued a detention order. The suspect was then transferred to Itzehoe Prison.

It is worth noting that a control zone is in effect at Elmshorn train station, which allows police to stop, question, and search individuals without cause. Additionally, a ban on weapons and knives in public transport applies in the Elmshorn train station area.
