German Man Faces Administrative Offense for Carrying One-Handed Knife at Dortmund Station
On September 6, a 56-year-old German citizen found himself in a confrontation with the Federal Police at Dortmund-Möllerbrücke station. The incident, which occurred around 1:55 PM, saw the man accused of carrying a one-handed knife.
According to reports, the officers initially suspected the man of violating the Weapons Act after discovering a one-handed knife in his backpack. The man, however, initially declared that he only had pepper spray and marijuana in his pockets. He identified himself to the officers with his ID card.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the pepper spray and marijuana were legal for the man to carry. However, the one-handed knife was not. As a result, the Federal Police initiated an administrative offense procedure against the man.
The encounter was not without its peculiarities. The knife, it was noted, could be opened one-handed using a hole on the blade. If equipped with a specific locking mechanism, it could also be closed one-handed.
