Police in NRW, Germany, have made two arrests in the past 24 hours, with federal authorities carrying out the arrest orders issued.

In the city of Aachen, Germany, the Federal Police made two arrests within the last 24 hours.

The first arrest was of a 49-year-old Romanian man, who was taken into police custody around 10:30 AM on Monday. The man was driving erratically, with strong zigzags and repeated lane changes without control. Officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the man, leading to a criminal complaint for driving under the influence.

Upon further investigation, a check of his data revealed an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Chemnitz for theft. The Romanian entered Germany via the A4 motorway. After completing all formalities, the Romanian was allowed to continue his journey, but was later apprehended in Aachen.

The Romanian was taken to the Autobahnpolizei Broichweiden for a blood test, and was subsequently sentenced to 85 days in prison or a fine of €1,700 for driving under the influence. However, a call to his girlfriend did not result in the payment of the fine, and he was sentenced to serve the prison term.

The second arrest was of a 53-year-old Turkish man, who was stopped for a check on the A44 at approximately 11:40 PM. The man was found to have deliberately violated the compulsory insurance law, and was sentenced to 34 days in prison or a fine of €1,700.

The Romanian's arrest was carried out by the Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin, but the search results do not provide the name of the head of the Bundespolizeidirektion Sankt Augustin. The Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin and the Federal Police Inspectorate Aachen can provide further information.

The public is reminded to always drive responsibly and to ensure they are in compliance with all traffic laws to avoid any potential legal complications.
