Police in Poland confirm arrest of individual driving under the influence for a distance exceeding four miles
In Greifswald, Germany, on August 15, 2025, a 56-year-old German driver found himself in trouble with the law. The incident occurred in the Greifswald South City, with the driver's erratic behaviour before the traffic stop catching the attention of an informant, who reported the suspected drunk driving to the Greifswald Police Headquarters.
The officers, upon receiving the report, swiftly moved to investigate. They stopped the vehicle involved, a Mercedes, and conducted a voluntary breath alcohol test on the driver. The test results revealed a breath alcohol level of 4.19 per mil, well above the legal limit.
As a result, the driver was charged with driving under the influence. The charges were filed by the Greifswald Police Headquarters, and the driver's license was confiscated.
For those seeking more information, the Police Inspectorate Anklam Press Office has been designated as the point of contact. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the consequences of driving under the influence.
