Police Inspectorate of Diepholz Issues Statement on August 31, 2025
In the small town of Bassum and the nearby village of Schwarme, two significant incidents occurred on August 30, 2025.
In Bassum, a burglary took place at a house on Nordstraße. The incident occurred between 4 PM and 6 PM, and the police are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed two conspicuous individuals in the area during that time. The burglars, who remain unidentified, targeted the home of a 77-year-old resident, specifically searching for and stealing valuable jewelry. The damage caused by the burglary amounts to a high four-figure sum.
Meanwhile, in Schwarme, a serious traffic accident occurred on county road 145 / Forststraße. The accident involved a 90-year-old driver and a 67-year-old motorcyclist. Details of the accident are not available, but the motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Bremen. The accident site was closed for several hours, but the police are not currently asking for information about the incident.
