On the night of August 28, 2025, a 38-year-old man caused a commotion in police custody at the Siegen-Wittgenstein District Police Headquarters in Weidenau.

The incident unfolded when the man was taken into custody around 3:30 AM. He offered strong resistance when being moved to another cell, resulting in injuries to two officers. Despite the minor injuries, the officers remained fit for duty.

During the altercation, the man repeatedly kicked towards the officers and struck the cell door with considerable force. As a result, the cell door was damaged so severely that it could only be opened using a crowbar. The damage was extensive enough to cause a disturbance in the police inter-heating room.

Following the incident, the man was taken into custody and is now facing criminal charges. The original perpetrator of the incident has not been publicly identified.

The Siegen-Wittgenstein District Police Headquarters is currently handling inquiries regarding the incident. For further information, you can contact the Press and Public Relations department at 0271 - 7099 1222 or send an email to [email protected].

No further details about the charges have been disclosed at this time. It took the efforts of several police officers to move the man and restore order. The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by law enforcement officers in maintaining public safety.
