Police zeroing in on the suspect behind the vehicular accident

In an effort to ensure the safety of motorcycle traffic, the Euskirchen police have been implementing a comprehensive approach that combines presence, checks, and education. On September 7, they conducted targeted checks in Blankenheim, Nettersheim, and Bad Münstereifel to prevent motorcycle accidents.

During these checks, the authorities caught thirty-three motorcycle riders speeding. The statistics show that speeding is not worth the risk, as traffic offenders face fines, driving bans, or even their own lives. In the most severe case, a 53-year-old motorcycle rider from the Cochem-Zell district was caught driving at an alarming 142 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. He now faces a fine of 1400 euros, a three-month driving ban, and two points on his license.

The Euskirchen police are not just about penalizing traffic violations but also promoting safe riding practices. Ten of these riders exceeded the speed limit so severely that they face a driving ban. Moreover, several vehicles were found to have technical modifications that resulted in the revocation of their registration during these inspections.

Two quads and one motorcycle were too loud due to technical modifications, and their drivers now face a fine of 90 euros. The authorities are engaging with motorcycle riders to raise awareness for safe riding. Those who speed not only endanger themselves but also others. Excessive speed remains one of the main causes of severe traffic accidents.

The Euskirchen police are committed to ensuring more safety in motorcycle traffic through their consistent efforts. The statistics suggest a connection between speeding and the risk of traffic accidents. The police continue to work towards enhancing safety in motorcycle traffic, reminding riders that safe riding is essential for everyone's well-being on the roads.
