Politicians Razavi and Lindlohr embark on a commemorative travels.
Minister Nicole Razavi Leads 2025 Heritage Tour Across Baden-Württemberg
Minister Nicole Razavi is set to embark on a cultural journey across Baden-Württemberg as she leads the 2025 Heritage Tour. The tour, which takes place from September 8 to 14, will feature a variety of monuments, from centuries-old structures to relatively young landmarks.
The tour kicks off in the Ministry of Spatial Development and Housing, with State Secretary Andrea Lindlohr launching the event. Minister Razavi will join the tour on September 10, visiting Mannheim, Seckach-Großeicholzheim, Konstanz, Donaueschingen, and Villingen-Schwenningen.
In Mannheim, Minister Razavi will symbolically unlock a digital monument map during her visit. The map, which will be officially released during the tour, will provide information on over 90,000 building and art monuments and around 30,000 archaeological cultural monuments. It will be accessible to the public via the Geoportal Baden-Württemberg.
The Night of Open Heritage in Mannheim will be opened by Minister Razavi, Christian Specht, Mayor of the City of Mannheim, and Prof. Dr. Claus Wolf. The event takes place at the Stadthaus N1 on September 13 at 5 PM. The following day, the Day of Open Heritage 2025 will take place nationwide, with the statewide opening taking place in Mannheim on the eve of the event.
The tour will highlight a diverse range of monuments. In Mannheim, visitors can explore the Ernst Klett publishing building, while in Konstanz, the Roman castle will be a key attraction. The Cistercian Nunnery in Heiligkreuztal and the Schafbrühl Settlement in Tübingen are also included in the tour.
The MPS Studio in Villingen-Schwenningen, another monument to be featured, is a relatively young landmark that showcases the passion and dedication for heritage preservation. The tour will also visit the Night of Open Heritage in Mannheim, where Minister Razavi will join local officials to open the event.
Minister Razavi finds the heritage tour a personal highlight every year, as it allows her to discover new stories, engage with local people, and experience the passion and dedication for heritage preservation. State Secretary Lindlohr believes that heritage preservation is cultural work in the best sense, as it preserves what binds us, and our monuments are living places of remembrance and recognition. Their value is not material but social, and therefore priceless.
