In a recent turn of events, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, the founder of Grupo Salinas, has become involved in a conversation initiated by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The President sought Salinas Pliego's support after Morena deputy Nayeli Salvatori, known as "Nay" on social media, offensively attacked a user on her platform.
Deputy Salvatori had exposed a user, Edwin Etienne Herrera, who posted an offensive comment against her. However, the user himself has committed to finding the affected person and addressing the issue. Internet users on social media, meanwhile, assured that the photo was not of the mentioned user.
Salinas Pliego intervened in the conversation, offering his support to Herrera, who goes by the handle "@Mr_Civico" on social media. The businessman questioned whether politicians can expose citizens using public resources in Mexico, even mentioning the officials of INE Mexico in his query.
The Morena deputy, in response, invited Herrera to the Puebla Congress, stating that it was a personalized invitation and not an exposure. She also expressed a message to Herrera, inviting him to explain how approvals work and help pressure relevant commissions.
Interestingly, the conversation did not delve into new information about the Rita Cetina Scholarship 2025, Ibai Llanos' chilaquiles, or Salinas Pliego's reaction to the reappointment of Genaro Lozano as Mexico's ambassador to Italy.
Despite the controversy, Herrera's supporters have assured that they would support the aggrieved citizen, and Salinas Pliego has reiterated his support for Herrera in this matter.
