Polluting travels and electronic waste disposal during an autumn tour

In the city of Gütersloh, residents have the opportunity to dispose of their hazardous waste safely and responsibly during a special service scheduled for three Fridays and three Saturdays in September and October. The service, provided by the city, will take place at various locations across the city, as detailed below.

The first session will take place on September 5, 2025, with subsequent sessions on September 12, 13, 19, 20, and October 10 and 11. Each session will last for approximately 1.5 hours, with specific times varying depending on the location.

On September 5, 2025, the service will be held from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at Hans-Böckler-Str.; Sackgasse Hammer-Markt. The following week, on September 12, 2025, the service will be held at two different locations: from 10:15 to 11:00 AM at Pavenstädt, Melanchthonstr., and from 1:00 to 1:30 PM at Waldsiedlung, Apfelweg / Walnussweg.

On September 13, 2025, the service will be held at three locations: from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at Fröbelstr. (Parkpl. gegenüber Hausnr. 8a), from 11:30 to 12:00 PM at Doheermannshöhe / Marthastr., and from 12:30 to 1:00 PM at Marktplatz, Prekerstr. / Töllerstr. The service will continue on September 19, 2025, with sessions at 1:00 to 1:30 PM at Nordhorn, Magnolienweg / Strotheide, and 2:00 to 2:30 PM at Isselhorst, Auf dem Felde (kath. Kirche).

In October, the service will be held on October 10, 2025, with sessions at 10:45 to 11:30 AM at Zur großen Heide 22 / Parkplatz Gaststätte, 11:30 to 12:00 PM at Eimerheide / Katharinenstr., and 1:00 to 1:30 PM at Kattenstrother Weg, Liebfrauenkirche. The final session will be held on October 11, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at Friedrichsdorf, Sportplatz Paderborner Str., and from 10:45 to 11:30 AM at Spexard, Heisenbergweg / Max-Planck-Str., and from 3:00 to 3:30 PM at Sundern, Wischmeyerstr.

It is important to note that hazardous waste should be delivered in sealed original packaging if possible. The service will not accept car batteries, medications, asbestos, fire extinguishers, and wall paints (room paints).

In addition to hazardous waste, electrical and electronic waste such as defective and functional coffee machines, washing machines, electric cookers, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators, electric shavers, radios, televisions, stereo systems, microwave ovens, hair dryers, computers, monitors, and similar items will also be accepted free of charge.

Household quantities of hazardous waste such as adhesives, liquid paints and varnishes, fluorescent tubes, plant protection products, acids and alkalis, spray cans, wood preservatives, dry batteries, photo chemicals, mercury thermometers, paintbrush cleaners, diluents, and similar items can be disposed of free of charge.
