Pop star Billie Eilish no longer holds the top spot on the charts
After an impressive 55-week reign, Billie Eilish's "Birds of a Feather" has finally been dethroned from the top spot on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The crown has been passed to Sombr's "Undressed".
"Undressed" climbed from the runner-up slot to take the throne, marking the first time in more than a year that "Birds of a Feather" has not ruled the chart. This change comes as "Birds of a Feather" falls from No. 1 to No. 2 on the same chart.
Despite this shift, "Birds of a Feather" remains one of the most popular rock and alternative tracks in the country. It has a 23-week run on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart and has blocked multiple competitors from collecting new champions on the chart.
Meanwhile, "Birds of a Feather" returns at No. 9 on the Alternative Digital Song Sales tally and falls to No. 4 on the Alternative Streaming Songs list. It also keeps steady at No. 9 on the Adult Contemporary roster.
Interestingly, "Birds of a Feather" is the second-longest-running No. 1 in Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart history, with Panic! At The Disco’s "High Hopes" still holding the record at 65 frames. However, it's worth noting that "High Hopes" managed 65 frames at No. 1, but not consecutively.
Sombr's "Back to Friends" and "12 to 12" also continue to perform well on the chart, remaining at No. 3 and lifting to a new high point at No. 7, respectively, on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally.
This change in the top spot on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart doesn't seem to diminish the popularity of "Birds of a Feather". The track continues to resonate with fans long after they first heard it.
As for "Undressed", it's the first time Sombr has reached the No. 1 spot on this highly competitive genre list. It's a significant milestone for the artist and a testament to the appeal of their music.
With both Sombr and Billie Eilish having multiple songs inside the top 10 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs tally, it's clear that both artists are dominating the genre. It will be interesting to see how the competition unfolds in the coming weeks.
