Apple Inc., the world-renowned tech giant, has confirmed that the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup will see a price increase compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 16. Jeffries analyst Edison Lee predicts a $50 rise for the iPhone 17 Air, mirroring a potential price hike for the entire lineup.

The price increase is primarily due to an increase in component costs and the impact of China tariffs. Apple aims to offset these higher costs with new features and design adjustments, rather than attributing them to U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports.

The iPhone 17 lineup, set to be unveiled in September, will consist of four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The current starting price of the iPhone 16 is $799, with the flagship iPhone 16 Pro Max retailing at $1,199. With the predicted price increase, the iPhone 17 models are anticipated to be priced higher.

The iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air models will be affected by the price increase, with the iPhone 17 Air seeing a $50 rise compared to the iPhone 16 Plus. The specifications, prices, and availability of the iPhone 17 models will be announced in September during the keynote event.

Apple plans to justify the higher costs to consumers with new features and design adjustments, ensuring that the value proposition remains attractive despite the price increase. The iPhone 17 lineup will be revealed to the public in September, offering consumers a first-hand look at the new offerings from Apple.
