Power Struggle Among Authoritarians
Andreas Speit, a renowned journalist and expert on right-wing extremism, is set to discuss his new book, "Authoritarian Rebellion," at Kulturzentrum Faust in Hannover. The event, moderated by Nadine Conti, Lower Saxony correspondent of the website since 2020, is scheduled for Tuesday, 9th September 2025, starting at 7 PM.
Attendance requires a ticket that must be booked in advance through the ticket portal. Admission to the event begins at 6 PM, and a Helpdesk will be available from 5:30 PM to assist with questions and problems related to the website app.
In his book, Speit explores the allusions, whispers, and freedom concept of alleged rebels. He delves into the questioning of reality, rejection of the rule of law, and delegitimization of democracy, discussing the history of ideas and the sources of something thriving in the heart of society.
Speit's professional activity spans several decades, with his work being recognized particularly in recent years up to at least 2023. He has a column titled "The Right Edge" in the website nord, and his new book, "Authoritarian Rebellion," has been generating much interest.
Right-wing extremists, Reich citizens, and conspiracy theorists are increasingly present in Western societies and in local neighborhoods. Speit's book offers a critical analysis of these groups and their impact on society.
Free admission is offered, but a solidarity contribution is appreciated for the website. The event will take place at Kulturzentrum Faust, Zur Bettfedernfabrik 3, 30451 Hannover. Don't miss this opportunity to engage with one of the leading voices on right-wing extremism in Germany today.
