Probes into severe physical harm resulting from a car crash and a knife wound incident
In the quiet town of Stadtlohn and the nearby city of Ahaus, two separate incidents have left authorities scrambling to piece together the events that transpired.
On the evening of August 25, 2025, a traffic accident occurred on Burgstraße in Stadtlohn around 21:50. A 30-year-old resident of Ahaus, who was hit and thrown by the vehicle, was connected to the crash. Meanwhile, the 29-year-old suspect was arrested on Goethestraße in Stadtlohn.
In a tragic turn of events, a separate incident occurred on Ostpreußendamm around 00:15, where a 28-year-old victim was stabbed in the back during a dispute. The suspected perpetrator was not found at the scene when emergency services arrived.
The victim was swiftly transported to a hospital for treatment, and the investigation into the stabbing incident is currently ongoing.
In relation to the traffic accident, an unlocked, high-end SUV was found near the incident site, potentially connected to both the injured individual and the accident. The small car involved in the collision, which damaged two parked vehicles and fled the scene, was later impounded. The 30-year-old driver of the small car claimed to have fled due to an argument and a shot on Goethestraße. However, he is not currently a suspect in the stabbing incident.
Blood traces leading from both the traffic accident site and the stabbing incident were found towards Ostpreußendamm. This discovery has raised questions about a possible connection between the two incidents.
Recognising the gravity of these events, the Specialized Commission of Police Directorate 4 (South) has taken over the investigation into these incidents and their possible connections to other criminal activities. The police are urging anyone with information regarding these incidents to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
