Proposal Enacted for Directive on Commission's Initiative Regarding a New Legislation

Fürth is gearing up for its 2026 municipal election, and the Green Party has announced its city council list. The list, a mix of new faces and experienced councilors, promises an exciting and fair election campaign.

Leading the Green Party's list is Katrin Grünbaum, the current treasurer of the district association. Grünbaum, known for her dedication to finance and administration, aims to ensure that Fürth remains lovable and livable.

Joining Grünbaum on the list are several familiar faces, including Sabine Weber-Thumulla, Harald Riedel, and Felix Geismann, all current city councilors. Weber-Thumulla, an advocate for green politics, brings her expertise to the table, while Riedel and Geismann continue their commitment to the city's development.

The Green Party's list also includes eight new candidates, each bringing unique skills and perspectives. Annette von Heissen, with her expertise in the health sector and advocacy for environmental and nature conservation, is one such newcomer. Dr. Kristin Hecker, an educational researcher, prioritises education as the foundation for a just and sustainable society.

Sebastian Fischer, a geographer working in an engineering office, runs for office to shift the focus from social media popularity to thematic discussion. Finn Lenski, representative of the Green Youth, aims to provide Fürth's youth with opportunities similar to those in neighboring cities. Johanna Barber, known for her involvement in Radentscheid 2023, is another new candidate.

Florian Friedrich, a Diploma Social Pedagogue, has been committed to children, youth, and social work for many years. He initiated and organized the first "Fürth in the Future" festival, among other projects. Kamran Salimi, the Green Party's mayoral candidate, was elected with no opposing votes. Salimi wants to continue working with foresight and responsibility in the city council to ensure that green politics makes a decisive difference.

Gabriele Zapf, Deputy Fraction Chair, holds seats in several committees and is responsible for the municipal cemeteries. Hanne Wiest, another current city councilor, is a member of several committees, including Youth Welfare and Youth Affairs, School, Education, Sports, and Health, Integration Council, and Social Welfare, Social, and Senior Affairs Advisory Board. Her ward is the children's playgrounds.

While the Green Party is well-prepared for the election, other parties are reportedly struggling to find candidates to fill their lists. The future development of Fürth is at stake, and the Green Party is ready to take on the challenge.
