The citizens' initiative "Pro Heimbach-Weis" is inviting the public to a special day at the Limes, a Roman-themed event that will take place on Saturday, September 20th, at Wachtposten 1/43. This event is a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it has garnered the support of several esteemed organisations.

The city of Neuwied, the Department of City Marketing, and Mayor Jan Einig are among the supporters for this unique event. The General Directorate for Cultural Heritage Rhineland-Palatinate (GDKE), the Naturpark Rhein-Westerwald, and the Limes World Heritage Initiative have also joined forces to make this day a memorable one.

The event program promises an immersive experience, with interactive Roman stations, ancient games & sports, Roman crafts & daily life demonstrations, insights into Roman cuisine, and a focus on military life on the Limes.

One of the highlights of the day will be a torchlight hike to Limes Tower Oberbieber (WP 1/37) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. To facilitate travel, a free shuttle service is provided for guests, travelling between the Zoo parking lot in Neuwied and the event location WP 1/43. The shuttle service adjusts its intervals to visitor traffic to ensure a smooth journey for all.

The event will conclude at 9:00 PM, offering a full day of Roman-themed activities and experiences. The city of Neuwied supports the initiative "Pro Heimbach-Weis" for this special occasion, and all interested parties are cordially invited to join in the celebrations.

The Initiative Welterbe Limes, a cooperation partner for the event, looks forward to welcoming you to this exciting Roman-themed event, where you can step back in time and experience the Roman Empire in a unique and engaging way. Don't miss out on this opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes as a UNESCO World Heritage Site!
