Incident in Delmenhorst: Bus Driver Assaulted and Apartment Fire

Two separate incidents occurred in Delmenhorst, a town in the Wesermarsch region, on August 30. The first incident involved an assault on a bus driver, while the second incident was a fire at an apartment in Blücherweg.

At around 21:00, a 46-year-old bus driver was assaulted by an 80-year-old man at the ZOB. The man punched and kicked the driver when she asked him to leave due to disruptive behavior. The man fell on the bus stop during the assault and injured his face. The bus driver was lightly injured and required immediate medical attention. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police and firefighters were deployed in large numbers to handle the incident. The man was also taken to a hospital for his injuries.

In a separate incident, a fire broke out at an apartment in Blücherweg around 18:00. Despite initial fears, the fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished. No injuries were reported in the fire. The damage caused by the fire is estimated to be in the lower five-figure range in euros. The fire started on the terrace and was contained to that area.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations into the cause are ongoing. The available search results do not provide the name of the man who attacked and injured the bus driver in Delmenhorst on August 30.
