On Saturday, 18th October, the Gallery for Contemporary Art Leipzig will host a thought-provoking workshop titled "Constructions of Identity and Difference - The 'Art' of Othering in Migration Contexts." This event, organised by the Federal Agency for Civic Education, is divided into sessions for students and educators.

The workshop is based on the work of US-American artist and educator LaTerrian "LT" McIntosh, who is known for his work with the "Outlast Arts & Education" project. This workshop aims to provide an interactive setting that combines collective reflection with artistic practice, focusing on engaging with visual narratives, cultural memory, and forms of political self-representation.

The central question of the workshop is how people with flight and migration experiences can make their perspectives visible through filmic and performative expressions. The event is intended for individuals interested in anti-racist education, empowerment, and activist art.

For students, the workshop will take place from 9 am to 12 pm, while political and cultural educators are invited from 1 pm to 4 pm. Further information about registration will follow.

This workshop is not open to the general public, but is specifically designed for those who wish to delve deeper into the complexities of identity, difference, and othering in migration contexts. It promises to be a unique and enlightening experience for all participants.
