Psychological factors may be involved in Sainz's outburst, according to F1 expert Christian Danner.

In the bustling world of Formula 1, the 2025 season has seen a surprising turn of events for Spanish driver Carlos Sainz. Currently racing for the Williams team, Sainz finds himself in a disappointing 17th place in the drivers' standings, nine places and 48 points behind his Williams teammate.

The season has been a challenging one for Sainz, who joined Williams after being replaced by Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari. On average, Sainz is about two tenths behind Alex Albon on a fast lap at Williams, a gap that has raised eyebrows in the Formula 1 community.

The season has been marked by a series of incidents, including a collision with Charles Leclerc in Britain and a crash with Yuki Tsunoda in Bahrain. Sainz also failed to make it to the starting grid in Austria due to a technical defect, and his collision with Lawson in Zandvoort seemed to be a significant setback.

These incidents have led some, including Formula 1 expert Christian Danner, to question Sainz's performance. Danner believes that Sainz's verbal outbursts, such as his harsh criticism of the stewards, are not acceptable behaviour and indicate that his nerves are on edge.

Danner also emphasises the psychological aspect of Sainz's struggles, suggesting that it should not be overlooked. He believes that Sainz's expression of displeasure, while allowing for disagreement, is potentially dangerous and would not be approved of by the FIA president and stewards.

Sainz's struggles are more than expected, as he has failed to get past Q1 three times in the first 12 races. This has come as a surprise to many, as Sainz is known for his calm demeanour and professional approach to racing.

Despite these challenges, Sainz continues to fight, determined to turn his season around. Only time will tell if he can climb the ranks and reclaim his place among the top drivers in Formula 1.
