Pupils from Verkhnykolayevsk, located in Sochi, will be using an alternated transportation method for school trips as the local bridge has been shut down.
In Sochi, Russia, students from School No. 18 will have to walk part of their journey to school due to traffic restrictions on a damaged bridge. However, the Sochi administration's transport department has announced a temporary scheme to ensure these students can still reach their educational building.
From September 1, students can use route No. 136 to reach the bridge. After crossing the bridge on foot, they will need to walk to the bus stop and board the same route bus to complete their journey. This bus will take them to the "Kudepsta" stop, located near the school.
The transportation for these students is being managed by the Sochi Department of Transport and Road Management. To make travel more affordable, students can use their "Student Card" to pay for their journey with a 50% discount. Payment with the "Palma" card for this route will also be counted as a single trip.
In the reverse direction after classes, the same scheme will apply. A school bus will meet the students after crossing the bridge and take them to the educational building according to a set schedule.
This year, more than 5,000 students from rural areas will be transported to and from school in Sochi under various schemes due to similar issues.
The transportation scheme for students of School No. 18 is a temporary solution until the damaged bridge is repaired. The Sochi administration urges parents and students to follow the instructions carefully to ensure a smooth journey to and from school.
