The victims were identified as Valerie Fortier, the president of Agricultrices du Quebec, and Jean-Pierre Godin, a 41-year-old man from Sainte-Eulalie. Both were the only passengers on board the plane.

Valerie Fortier was a well-respected figure in the agricultural community, known for her passion and dedication to Agricultrices du Quebec. She was also a mother of three teenagers and co-ran a family dairy farm in Centre-du-Quebec with her father.

The news of Valerie's tragic demise has sent shockwaves through the community, with the board of directors of Agricultrices du Quebec expressing their grief on her Facebook page. Naor Cohen, the organizer of AeroVenture 2025, also confirmed the accident at the event site in a Facebook video.

The Canadian Transportation Safety Board has been mobilized to investigate the causes of the plane crash, while the Major Crimes Division has opened an investigation to determine if there is a criminal aspect to this case. The SQ (Sûreté du Québec) has not yet confirmed if the incident is related to AeroVenture 2025.

The Bureau of the Coroner has also been mobilized to clarify the causes and circumstances of the deaths. Chloe Bourquin, a journalist with La Presse, is reporting on the developing story.
