Race concludes at the backside
In the early hours of this morning, a high-speed car chase involving a VW T-Cross took place in the city of Bielefeld, Germany.
According to the Bielefeld Police Station, the patrol car pursued the fleeing VW after it was spotted on Jöllenbecker Straße at around 03:50 AM. The VW driver, attempting to escape, sped through Spenge, exceeding the speed limit by more than 100 km/h.
The VW lost control at the Hamfeldstraße/Bussche-Münch-Straße intersection, veering off the road to the left and ending up in a hedge. The incident occurred at the Amtsstraße, where the patrol car had signaled the VW driver to stop.
A 39-year-old resident of Spenge was arrested at the scene. Alcohol and drug tests were positive for the individual. A doctor took blood samples from the suspect at the police station.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated for participating in an unauthorized car race, endangering traffic, and driving under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicating substances.
The VW was seized on the order of the public prosecutor's office. The investigation of the traffic accident is being handled by the Bielefeld Police Station.
