Race in Gelsenkirchen resumes under blue lights

The much-anticipated Blue Light Run is set to make a comeback in Gelsenkirchen on August 13, 2025. This charity event, now in its twelfth edition, is organised by the 8th Police Reserve Company of the Gelsenkirchen Police Headquarters.

The Blue Light Run offers a fantastic opportunity for running enthusiasts across the Ruhr area and beyond to participate in a day of athleticism and camaraderie. The event caters to runners of all abilities, with distances including 5km, 10km runs, and a half marathon.

The day's activities will run from 9 am to 2 pm, and the event will conclude with an awards ceremony honouring the most athletic runners. Those interested in participating can register via a specific link, found on the official event website www.blaulichtlauf-ge.de.

The Blue Light Run is more than just a running event; it's a chance to give back to the community. Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the "Gelsenkirchen Animal Protection Association" and the "Warm through the Night" association.

Stay updated on all things Blue Light Run by following the event's Instagram page. Last year's event was unfortunately cancelled due to the European Championship in Gelsenkirchen, but with the return of the event in 2025, it's set to be bigger and better than ever. We look forward to seeing you there!
