2025 MotoGP Barcelona GP Sprint: Marc Marquez Takes the Win
The thrilling 2025 MotoGP Barcelona GP Sprint has come to a close, with Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez emerging victorious. The race, held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, was filled with drama and unexpected twists.
Marc Marquez inherited the lead three laps from the finish, after his brother Alex Marquez unfortunately crashed out of the race. Fabio Quartararo, riding for Yamaha, put up a strong fight and finished second, while Fabio Di Giannantonio on the VR46 bike took third place.
The top six positions were filled by a mix of talented riders. Pedro Acosta, riding for KTM, finished fourth, with Enea Bastianini on the Tech3 bike in fifth and Brad Binder also on a KTM in sixth. Ai Ogura, riding for Trackhouse, secured the final championship point by finishing ninth, narrowly missing out on points was Miguel Oliveira in tenth.
There were several notable absences from the race. Aprilia riders Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi both crashed out, with incidents involving Franco Morbidelli and Fermin Aldeguer. Alex Rins, riding for Yamaha, also did not finish the race, along with Marco Bezzecchi, Fermin Aldeguer, Jorge Martin, Franco Morbidelli, and Lorenzo Savadori.
Among the riders who did complete the race, there were some interesting positions. Francesco Bagnaia, riding for Ducati, finished 14th, while Jack Miller, riding for Pramac, took 12th position on a Yamaha. The highest Honda rider close to that position was Joan Mir in 13th place.
As the dust settles on the Barcelona GP Sprint, attention now turns to the Catalan Grand Prix, which continues on Sunday, starting at 14:00 CET. Motorsport-Magazin.com will provide session reports, live timings, and numerous background stories for the event.
In the meantime, Johann Zarco and Luca Marini finished the Barcelona GP Sprint on Honda bikes, in positions seven and eight respectively. Raul Fernandez, riding for Trackhouse, and Maverick Vinales, riding for Tech3, completed the race in positions 11 and 15 respectively.
