Red Bull's Max Verstappen Takes Dominant Win at Monza, Piastri Wins at Zandvoort

The Formula One circus is set to move to Monza, Italy on September 7, with Ferrari fans hoping for a better weekend for the team. However, the spotlight was stolen by Max Verstappen and McLaren's Lando Norris, who put on a thrilling show at the previous race at the Zandvoort circuit.

Piastri, the McLaren driver, clinched a victory at Zandvoort, marking his sixth Grand Prix victory of the season. The race started with a thrilling start, as Verstappen overtook Norris, but he briefly lost control of his Red Bull. Piastri, on the other hand, held his ground and maintained his lead throughout the race.

Norris, struggling to get close enough to Piastri during the race, passed Verstappen on lap nine to restore the one-two for the papaya team. However, the race was not without its drama. The first rain began to fall around lap 15 of 72 and claimed its first victim, Lewis Hamilton, who slid his Ferrari off the track into the barriers.

The safety car deployment bunched up the field, but Piastri held off Norris and Verstappen with a strong performance. After the safety car was withdrawn, Piastri produced his fastest lap to take control of the race. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli, the Mercedes driver, collided, sending Leclerc's Ferrari into the barriers.

At Monza, Verstappen delivered a dominant performance, winning the Grand Prix with a margin of over 19 seconds ahead of Norris and Piastri. Isack Hadjar, a Racing Bulls' rookie, finished third and became the fifth youngest podium finisher of all time.

Despite the disappointing result at Zandvoort, Ferrari fans can take heart in the fact that since 2021, the driver who started on pole at Zandvoort has won every race. The team will be hoping for a better performance at Monza, where they have a strong history of success.
