InstaVolt, a leading provider of dependable, convenient, and easy charging options for electric vehicles (EVs), is set to bring its services to more drivers across Europe. The company's latest move sees the installation of a new ultra-rapid charging station in Mourão, Portugal, located just 15km from the Spanish border.

This development comes at a time when both Portugal and Spain are experiencing a significant increase in electric vehicle uptake. According to recent statistics, battery EV registrations in Portugal were up 40.97% year on year in January 2025, while EV sales in Spain increased by an impressive 134.9% in the first half of the same year.

Delvin Lane, CEO of InstaVolt, acknowledged the growing potential of these markets, stating, "Portugal and Spain are emerging as key markets for electric vehicle adoption, and we're thrilled to be contributing to this trend with our charging stations."

The new site in Mourão features two 160kW ultra-rapid chargers, marking InstaVolt's sixth ultra-fast charging station in Portugal. This introduction is part of InstaVolt's strategy to support the growth of EV adoption throughout the Iberian Peninsula.

Meanwhile, the transportation sector in the UK is gearing up for the fourth annual CiTTi Awards, an event that recognises achievements and innovations in EV charging infrastructure. The awards, which will take place on 25 November 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London, are a must-attend event for industry professionals. More information about the CiTTi Awards can be found at www.cittiawards.co.uk.

Iberdrola, a Spanish utility company, also played a part in the growth of EV infrastructure in Portugal with the installation of the sixth ultra-fast charging station for electric vehicles in Mourão. However, InstaVolt did not provide information about any anti-cable cutting theft technology in this specific installation.

As the shift towards electric vehicles continues, it's clear that both Portugal and Spain are set to play significant roles in this transition. With companies like InstaVolt investing in the region, drivers can look forward to more convenient and reliable charging options in the near future.
