Rapidly Advance Your Innovation: Sign Up Today for the Cross Innovation Lab Program!
The city of Hamburg is once again gearing up for the Cross Innovation Lab, a project by the Hamburg Creative Society, scheduled to start in November 2025. This initiative, supported by partners like the Kreativ Gesellschaft and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Innovation (BWI), aims to foster cross-cluster collaboration and crisis management through the Cross Innovation Resilience Sprint.
Seven Hamburg industry clusters are bundling their strengths in the KLIMAready project to work together on climate protection themes. One of the examples of successful collaborations creating innovative solutions in Hamburg is the KLIMAready project, which involves industry leaders like duty-free retailer Gebr. Heinemann, Buderus, and Dachser. These companies are now sharing power through the "cluster bridge" developed by KLIMAready, demonstrating energy sharing as a future model.
The Cross Innovation Lab addresses individual innovation needs in the early phase. Companies and public institutions can develop innovative approaches for products, processes, and services tailored to their challenges in just nine days. Potential or existing customers and other companies participating in the lab could be involved in the innovation process.
The Digital Hub Logistics & Commerce, another example of fruitful collaborations in Hamburg, connects companies, investors, startups, research, and education to drive innovations in logistics, trade, and supply chains. The innovation space offers a platform for the development of concepts or prototypes, which are then validated, tested, and ready for implementation.
The Cross Innovation Lab's website can be found at cross-innovation-hub.de, while the KLIMAready project's website is klimaready.de. A roadmap for the next steps shows how to secure internal budgets or win external partners and funding.
The deadline for registration for the Cross Innovation Lab is 30th September 2025. The focus of this year's lab is on developing innovative solutions tailored to individual challenges, with projects including strengthening cluster cooperation and developing innovations in areas like logistics, electromobility (E-BOOST project), autonomous inland waterway shipping (AUTOBarge), and smart solutions for waterfront usage conflicts (Connected River), with participants such as PALETTEN-SERVICE HAMBURG and the Hamburg Port Authority.
The combination of expertise and creativity is intended to create new ways of thinking and working, with the aim of driving Hamburg's innovation agenda forward.
