The consumer center Rhineland-Palatinate and the European Consumer Centre (ECC) Germany are conducting a digital lecture series titled "Focus Week Goals - New Ways. After School." The series aims to provide valuable information for young people planning a stay abroad this year, with parents also welcome to attend.

One of the lectures, titled "Going abroad. How to prepare?", will be given by Mareike Boguet, a lawyer at the ECC Germany. The lecture is scheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025, from 5 to 6 pm.

During the lecture, Mareike will address various topics related to planning and organizing a stay abroad. These include required administrative tasks, recommended insurances, considerations for finding accommodation, benefits of having an account abroad, and the continuation of child benefit entitlement.

In addition to the lecture, our website offers a wealth of information on gaining international experience. This includes diverse opportunities for a year abroad, work and travel, voluntary service, or language courses. Furthermore, the website provides additional topics such as gaining intercultural experiences with a voluntary service abroad, the most important facts about the Erasmus program, and women traveling independently.

For those planning a longer stay abroad, it's essential to deal with important topics like documents, insurance, and finances at an early stage. The ECC website provides information on clarifying finances and insurance in a timely manner, and an ECC brochure titled "Moving to an EU country" (PDF) is available as additional information material.

Participation in the digital lecture series is free, and only a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access and sound output is required for participation. A YouTube video titled "Going abroad" in cooperation with the consumer center is also available as additional information material.

Registration for the lectures is required, and our website is a German-language service and news portal that informs readers about the topic of living and working abroad. The lectures will take place on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 5 to 6 pm.

Individual questions can be asked via live chat during the lecture, making it a great opportunity to get personalized advice from an expert in the field. Don't miss out on this valuable opportunity to prepare for your stay abroad. Register now!
