Australian Hi-Fi Show 2025: The Best Sound of Show Revealed

The Australian Hi-Fi Show 2025 concluded with an exciting announcement, as the room with the most votes was declared the winner of the annual public vote for the Best Sound of Show.

The room that took the top spot was Westan Australia's Focal room, featuring the Focal Diva Utopia speakers. The speakers worked entirely alone, with no supporting stack of electronics, impressing visitors with their exceptional sound quality. The Focal Diva Utopia speakers received a slight sprucing with Atlas power cables, adding an extra touch to the room's setup.

The second place for Best Sound of Show went to Audio Marketing and Len Wallis's Triangle demonstration. The Capella speakers in the Triangle demonstration room impressed visitors with their extraordinary dynamics and impressive bass. The Capellas can stream from AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth, Roon, and have additional inputs like USB-B, three opticals, an HDMI, a coaxial input, and analogue inputs.

Coming in third was Magenta Audio's Dutch & Dutch 8c speakers, brought to the Corridor of Sound. These active speakers, which feature their own internal power, streaming, and additional features, received a significant number of votes. Magenta Audio's Dutch & Dutch 8c speakers have two more 8-inch high-excursion bass drivers to the rear and three amplifiers providing a total of 1000W of power.

HeyNow Hi-Fi and Serhan Swift- Elementi/Wavetrain also received votes, along with Richter, MaxMedia, Vivid Audio /Avation, DanA - Synergy, and Dali, which finished fourth in the public Best Sound vote.

Yamaha received votes for both its main room and its headphone demonstration. The Bowers & Wilkins 805 D4 Signature loudspeakers, supported by twin Bowers & Wilkins DB3D subwoofers and Marantz 10 Series electronics, finished fourth in the public Best Sound vote. The Denon DP-3000 direct drive turntable with DL 103R cartridge was part of the Bowers & Wilkins system at the fourth-place room.

The Australian Hi-Fi Show 2025 featured world-class Australian home theatres & smart homes and reviews from Sound+Image and Australian Hi-Fi magazines. The event also included a competition where visitors could collect stamps in various rooms and enter the competition to win prizes. The prize question was included in Competition Cards distributed to all visitors in their Show Bags.

In a note for those who didn't win the competition, if a visitor hasn't heard from the organizers, it means they didn't win the competition, but their votes are still counted.

The Australian Hi-Fi Show continues to be a significant event for audiophiles and music enthusiasts, showcasing the latest in high-end audio technology and providing a platform for public engagement and appreciation.
