Recognized with the SKOCH 2025 Award for the Samruddhi Mahamarg Project by MSRDC
The 100th SKOCH Summit, held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, was a momentous occasion as it saw the recognition of individuals, projects, and institutions that have gone the extra mile in making India a better nation. Among the honourees was Dr. Anilkumar Gaikwad, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
Dr. Gaikwad was presented with the SKOCH 2025 Award for the successful implementation of the flagship project of MSRDC, the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg. This high-speed greenfield expressway provides direct and efficient connectivity to 392 villages across 26 talukas in 10 districts of Maharashtra.
The project, which has boosted the state's economy, has created new growth opportunities for agro-based and manufacturing industries. It has also significantly reduced travel time between Nagpur and Mumbai from 16-18 hours to just 7-8 hours, enhancing access to Mumbai.
Moreover, the expressway has catalyzed agricultural and industrial development in the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions. This has not only boosted the local economy but also provided a much-needed impetus to the overall growth of Maharashtra.
Dr. Gaikwad attributed the SKOCH Award for the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg to the dedication and hard work of Team MSRDC. He stated that the achievement will further inspire MSRDC to continue delivering world-class infrastructure projects for Maharashtra.
