On the evening of August 30, two separate incidents occurred in Delmenhorst, Germany.
In the first incident, an 80-year-old man assaulted a 46-year-old bus driver at the ZOB around 21:00. According to reports, the man punched and kicked the bus driver, causing minor injuries to both parties. The man was subsequently asked to leave the bus due to disruptive behaviour before the assault. He was treated by emergency services and taken to a hospital for his facial injuries. The name of the man involved in the assault has not been publicly disclosed.
In the second incident, a terrace furniture fire broke out at an apartment in Blücherweg, Delmenhorst, around 18:00. The fire was quickly contained to the terrace area, and it was feared that the fire could have become a full-blown one, leading to a large deployment of police and firefighters. The fire was brought under control and extinguished promptly. The estimated property damage is in the lower five-figure range.
