The tech giant, Apple, has announced the release of its latest Mac mini models, powered by the M4 and M4 Pro chips. This compact powerhouse promises to redefine performance and efficiency in the world of personal computing.

Compared to the Mac mini with Intel Core i7, the new Mac mini with M4 applies up to 2.8 times more audio effect plugins in a Logic Pro project. It also enhances photos with up to 33 times faster image upscaling performance in Photomator. When it comes to gaming, the Mac mini with M4 delivers up to 13.3 times faster performance in World of Warcraft: The War Within.

The Mac mini with M4 Pro, on the other hand, features a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and starts with 16GB of unified memory. This powerhouse transcribes with on-device AI speech-to-text up to 20 times faster in MacWhisper. It also executes scene-edit detection up to 9.4 times faster in Adobe Premiere Pro.

The M4 Pro Neural Engine is over 3 times faster than in the Mac mini with M1, and the M4 Pro GPU is up to twice as powerful as the GPU in M4. This makes the M4 Pro provide phenomenal multithreaded performance with up to 14 cores.

The new Mac mini, built around Apple silicon, measures a mere 5 by 5 inches. It is also Apple's first carbon neutral Mac, with an over 80 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across its materials, manufacturing, transportation, and customer use.

The M4 Pro model, internally codenamed J773s, is linked to Apple events around 2025, but the exact release date is not specified. The M4 Pro also supports up to 64GB of unified memory and 273GB/s of memory bandwidth.

Moreover, the M4 Pro supports Thunderbolt 5, which delivers up to 120 Gb/s data transfer speeds on Mac mini. The Mac mini with M4 Pro is also built for Apple Intelligence, a personal intelligence system that transforms how users work, communicate, and express themselves while protecting their privacy.

Lastly, the Mac mini with M4 delivers up to 1.8 times faster CPU performance and 2.2 times faster GPU performance over the M1 model. It starts at just $599 with 16GB of memory and is available for pre-order today, with availability beginning November 8. This affordable price point, coupled with its impressive performance, makes the new Mac mini a compelling choice for both professionals and casual users alike.
