The automotive world is abuzz with anticipation as Porsche prepares to introduce its new electric Cayenne by the end of 2025. The fourth generation of the iconic SUV promises a significant leap forward in electric technology.

The new electric Cayenne boasts a longer wheelbase, providing more legroom for passengers. This extended length, along with a minimal increase in width and height, makes the electric Cayenne slightly larger than the current model.

Under the hood, or rather, beneath the powerful electric motor, lies a completely new E-architecture and a new drive system. This innovative setup promises over 1,000 PS, making the electric Cayenne a formidable force on the road.

The powertrain combines a permanent synchronous motor from the Macan at the front with a new, oil-cooled electric motor at the rear. The current Cayenne S model produces around 600 PS, and the base model gets the same electric motor as the Macan.

The new battery offers a recuperation of up to 600 kW, similar to a Formula 1 race car, and promises over 600 kilometers of WLTP range. This impressive battery was developed for high performance and is sandwiched between two cooling plates to prevent overheating.

The electric Cayenne also offers practicality, with large compartments in the doors, a deep storage box between the seats, and a 90-liter frunk under the hood. These features emphasise its high degree of everyday usability.

A wide-opening panoramic sunroof, with electrochromic glass panels that darken section by section at the press of a button, adds a touch of luxury to the interior.

The Cayenne, as the first electric vehicle, can tow trailers weighing up to 3.5 tons. The Cayenne Turbo model, with its aggressive launch and a digital speedometer reading "200" in less than ten seconds, promises a top speed of 270 km/h.

While the details about the engineer leading the development of the fourth generation of the electric Porsche Cayenne remain undisclosed, it is clear that Porsche is gearing up for a major shift in the electric SUV market.

Interestingly, the current Cayenne with plug-in hybrid and gasoline engines will continue to be produced until the next decade. The fourth generation of the SUV will be produced alongside the current model in Bratislava.

Test drives for the new electric Cayenne are almost complete, six months before series production. Porsche's flexibility to react to market demands with joint production in one plant could mean that if electric takes off, they can simply increase their capacities to meet the growing demand.

Stay tuned for more updates on the new electric Porsche Cayenne as we approach its world premiere.
