Dormagen, Germany - A new orientation course designed to help refugees and newly arrived immigrants settle into their daily lives in Germany has been announced. The course, which will be held at the Christoph-Rensing School, is a joint project of the VHS NRW state association, VHS Dormagen, and the municipal department of integration and social affairs.

Dennis Komainda, a competent teacher with local area expertise, will lead the course. Komainda is expected to contribute significantly to the successful integration of the participants. The course is aimed at people who are new to Germany and need help getting started.

The course, which consists of 300 units of 45 minutes each, divided into six modules, covers a wide range of topics. These include daily life, work, shopping, health, housing, school, media, mobility, customs and traditions, and values and coexistence. The aim is to provide participants with the necessary tools to navigate their new environment and build a secure foundation for their lives in Germany.

Dr. Torsten Spillmann, deputy mayor of the city administration, highlighted the purpose of the course: "To create a low-threshold access to language and orientation on-site." He further stated that the course aims to strengthen both the participants and coexistence in Dormagen.

Niklas Christen, from VHS NRW state association, expressed his pleasure about VHS Dormagen as a partner for the orientation course in NRW. He noted that the addition of VHS Dormagen as a partner contributes to comprehensive coverage of the course.

The course is primarily for asylum seekers but is also open to other immigrants if there are available spots. Those who are not yet eligible for an integration course can also participate. The course will take place four days a week from 8:30 to 12:45, starting from August 25 and running approximately until January 22.

The course is based on the "orientation and German learning" concept of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), and the organization that collaborates with VHS Dormagen for this orientation and German language course in Dormagen is the Stadt Dormagen (City of Dormagen) through its integration team, led by Suheip Abu Nasir.

The Stadt Dormagen, through its integration team, is excited about the opportunity to host this course. The team, led by Abu Nasir, is working closely with BAMF and VHS Dormagen to ensure the course's success. The course is expected to provide valuable support to refugees and immigrants, helping them integrate into their new community and build a better life in Germany.
