Kevin Etten, a Harvard graduate and former editor of The Harvard Lampoon, has ventured into feature filmmaking with his latest project, the 2025 Anaconda remake. The film, directed by Tom Gormican and co-written by Gormican and Etten, is set to be released on December 25, 2025.

Tom Gormican, an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer, is known for his work on The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. His collaborative efforts with Etten on The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent marked Etten's transition into feature filmmaking.

The story follows a group of childhood friends grappling with mid-life crises who venture into the rainforest. The film is a blend of action-comedy horror and satire, a genre that Etten's career spans, having contributed to acclaimed television series such as Scrubs, Desperate Housewives, Reaper, and Workaholics.

Etten's work on Anaconda (2025) is a new platform for his knack for character-driven humor and meta storytelling. The film's production took place in Australia, and it is the sixth installment in the Anaconda franchise.

Contrary to speculation, there is no specific mention of a "Schauspielerkollektiv" (actor collective) involved in the 2025 Anaconda film production. The cast features individual actors such as Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Selton Mello, Daniela Melchior, Thandiwe Newton, and Steve Zahn without reference to a collective group.

Etten's work is defined by its clever dialogue, emotional nuance, and ability to balance satire with sincerity across both television and film. Gormican's work often explores identity, fame, and absurdity, delivered with a balance of heart and satire.

In addition to his work on Anaconda (2025), Etten has earned two Golden Globe nominations, including a win for Desperate Housewives in 2006. The film's release next year promises to be an exciting addition to Etten's impressive career.
