Renovation work persists on the South-East Ring
A series of road repair works is set to take place in Thuringia, Germany, starting from August 25, 2025. The work will be carried out in three phases, affecting traffic on the section of road from the Ox Bridge to the Pfortener Kalkwerk intersection.
In the first phase, which will last until September 5, 2025, the work will be focused on the section from the Ox Bridge to the Braustraße intersection. During this time, traffic heading towards Zeitz/Leipzig will be rerouted via Elsterdamm, Am Sommerbad, Gebrüder-Häußler-Straße, Theaterstraße, and Straße des Bergmanns. The pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Stadtring Süd-Ost/Plauensche Straße will be temporarily closed due to work and safety reasons.
The second phase, from September 8 to October 5, 2025, will see the repair of the section from the Braustraße intersection to "Am Pfortener Kalkwerk 1". Traffic towards Weida/Greiz will not be affected by these restrictions. During this phase, the work will be carried out under full closure, and a separate notification will be issued for traffic management during this period.
The third and final phase, from October 6 to 18, 2025, will extend from "Am Pfortener Kalkwerk 1" to the Pfortener Kalkwerk intersection. Traffic heading towards Zeitz/Leipzig will still be rerouted via the same route during this phase. It is important to note that the autumn holidays will be affected by this phase of the roadwork.
The construction work on the road between Ox Bridge and Pfortener Kalkwerk from August 25, 2025, to October 18, 2025, is being conducted by Straßenbau Müller GmbH. The organization responsible for the first and second phases of the work is Thüringer Straßenwartungs- und Instandhaltungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG.
